Q: What type of treatment does AKUA Mind & Body offer?

AKUA Mind & Body is dedicated to provide the highest quality of care. The services offered by AKUA vary slightly by facility, but majorly includes: Detoxification: AKUA’s integrative detox aims to ensure effective and proper cleansing of your body to neutralize the effects of alcohol or other substance abuse. With the help of the Awaken Your Soul in California, we have developed gender-specific treatment programs so men and women can safely explore and address their personal issues. Drug addiction: We at AKUA understand that addiction is a complicated disease which requires proper medical guidance and treatment. Our drug addiction programs will help you heal physically, mentally and achieve lasting sobriety. Dual diagnosis: Addiction often results in co-occurring mental health issues like personality and mood disorder. At AKUA, we provide the best drug and alcohol addiction treatment for not only your addiction but also your mental health problems. Primary Mental Health: We, at AKUA believe that it is important for individuals who are struggling with a mental health disorder to seek proper treatment to prevent future complications. AKUA Mind & Body’s Primary Mental Health Treatment Centers aims to lessen the symptoms associated with the specific disorder. With the proper treatment regimen, it is possible for an individual to be symptom-free for a long-term period.

Q: What are the levels of care provided by AKUA?

We provide all three levels of care as you progress through treatment. The available levels of care include: Integrated Detox Program: At AKUA, we understand that men and women experience substance abuse differently and their treatment processes differ greatly as well. That is why we have developed gender-specific detox programs to provide the best addiction treatment that will help keep the focus on recovery. Residential Program: The beautiful location and unique East-meets-West treatment methods make AKUA more than a treatment center. Our gender-specific residential programs focus on long lasting sobriety and mindfulness-based relapse prevention. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): The partial hospitalization program (PHP) at AKUA is geared towards clients who have successfully completed inpatient drug detoxification and are now ready for a structured, focused addiction treatment. Intensive Outpatient Program: After the successful completion of detoxification or primary care, AKUA will help you return to your responsibilities while maintaining sobriety. AKUA’s Intensive Outpatient Program’s unique holistic approach includes group and individual sessions in psychotherapy, relationship counseling, music therapy, and meditation etc.

Q: How long does rehabilitation typically take?

The average stay for Integrated Detox Program is 5-7 days. The average stay for Residential Program is 30 days. The typical Partial Hospitalization Program is 3-5 weeks and Intensive Outpatient Program is 20 -30 sessions which translate to 30-45 days. Overall, the length of stay is determined by the history of alcohol/drug use, withdrawal symptoms, progress towards treatment plan goals and insurance authorization.

Q: What type of insurance does AKUA accept?

Insurance can create added stress for a patient already undergoing the stresses of treatment. At AKUA, we are in-network with Blue Cross/Anthem and accept most PPO insurance policies. Recently, many insurance policies have been improved for mental health services as a result of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Here is a list of the insurances that we accept:
