The Joint Commission
One of our biggest and most prominent accreditation comes from The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission, formerly known as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), is a United States-based nonprofit tax-exempt 501 organization that accredits more than 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.

Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is a department within the California Health and Human Services Agency that finances and administers a number of individual health care service delivery programs.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) works closely with AKUA Mind & Body to utilize the organizations strategic support and manner of research across a broad range of disciplines. NIDA’s mission is to lead the Nation in bringing the power of science to stand on drug abuse and addiction.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)
The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) is the United States’ leading addiction medicine professional society representing over 4,000 physicians, clinicians and associated professionals with a focus on addiction and its treatment. We are proud to be aligned with the ASAM’s core purpose of advancing the practice of addiction medicine.

The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP)
NAATP is a nonprofit professional society of top treatment providers throughout the continuum of care. NAATP’s service as a convening body brings the industry together to promote collegiality and the dissemination of best practices. We are proud to be associated with the NAATP’s goals.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It is charged with improving the quality and availability of treatment and rehabilitative services in order to reduce illness, death, disability, and the cost to society resulting from substance abuse and mental illnesses.
