AKUA Mind & Body provides outpatient rehab in San Diego for drug addictions and mental illnesses. Our one-of-a-kind rehabilitation center is uniquely qualified to treat both sets of problems, which often go hand-in-hand. Our patients benefit immensely from receiving outpatient treatment from AKUA Mind & Body because we employ some of the best professionals in drug addiction and mental health treatment. Our goal is to help you recover and to continue to improve.
Who is Outpatient Rehab for?
More than half of our outpatient clients are individuals who have gone through our residential inpatient and or drug detox program. These are individuals whom we have provided care for and built relationships with. Because we know them well, and because we have helped them put together a treatment plan, they decide to continue their aftercare with AKUA Mind & Body once their inpatient stay is complete.
Individuals who complete residential inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab are more than twice as likely to remain in recovery without relapse than their counterparts who only complete one or the other. For most people, the standard progression of treatment usually starts with detox or residential inpatient treatment and ends with outpatient treatment and or sober living homes.
What if I Can't Go to Inpatient Treatment?
There are a lot of people who, for some reason or another, can put their lives on hold for 30 - 90 days to admit themselves into an inpatient rehab facility. Usually, we find that people who want to get better badly enough can maneuver things around with a little ingenuity and creativity. The key is a willingness to commit to your improvement and recovery.
Unfortunately, there are circumstances when an individual cannot put their lives on hold long enough to get the inpatient treatment that they need. In cases like these, the patient may attend outpatient treatment exclusively. At AKUA Mind & Body, we provide both standard outpatient and intensive outpatient care.
Do I Need IOP?
Intensive outpatient treatment is ideal for individuals who can't commit to inpatient treatment but still need a high degree of structure, oversight, and accountability, such as that which is provided in an inpatient setting. Intensive outpatient is called "intensive" because it is intensive. Therefore, it may not be for everyone. IOP can take place up three or five days a week, up to three to five hours a session. Of course, the other option is standard outpatient treatment.
Standard outpatient treatment is for individuals who have finished residential inpatient treatment.
