ALOHA’s integrative detox provides the proper physical cleansing to strengthen and repair the damage that has been done by drugs and alcohol. Our detox program includes medication management and individualized counseling to help begin the healing process. Our treatment at ALOHA encourages women to explore the underlying issues and traumas of their addiction.

Counseling is facilitated in an environment of trust and safety and is led by Masters level clinicians that focus on uncovering the root of a women’s pain. This approach helps them successfully overcome addiction while promoting a lifestyle of long-term recovery.

We utilize a therapeutic approach to include conventional one-to-one trauma focused behavioral therapy treatment, as well as other modalities. The all-women atmosphere encourages women to speak honestly and openly in ways that the presence of men might inhibit.

AKUA provides the Highest Level of Care, accredited by JOINT COMMISSION ACCREDITATION OF HEALTHCARE

“Akua was more than learning not to drink. From the moment I walked in it was different. It was a place of understanding as many of the staff members have successful entered recovery. The staff began right away with drawing my story out in attempt to get into the deeper reasons behind why I abuse. The most helpful thing I received was insight into the whys of my addiction instead of just trying to stop the addiction. They treat the whole person.”

Akua’s Role in Recovery

At Mahalo, our goal is to help our clients safely attain sobriety through our detoxification treatment program. Our gender-specific approach helps them to unburden their worries and address their personal issues with those who have faced similar problems. This gives our clients a sense of belongingness and helps them address the underlying issues which had pushed them towards alcohol or substance abuse in the first place. We integrate three essential components to provide a complete and safe detoxification while understanding the diverse treatment modalities involved.

Evaluation – Test for the presence of substance abuse in our client’s system, measuring their concentration as well as screening for co-occurring mental and physical conditions. We believe that careful evaluation leads to successful stabilization.

Stabilization – Following the evaluation, our clients enter the stabilization phase of treatment. During this phase, medical and psycho social interventions are used to assist them through the acute intoxication and withdrawal process progressing into a medically stable, substance-free state.

Continuing Care – Establishing a formal and individualized treatment program is necessary to ensure lasting sobriety. Our highly qualified clinical team works with our clients in this phase to prepare them for this step in recovery, whether its inpatient, outpatient, or a home setting.
