Kathy McCarrell, MSW
Executive Director, WomenShelter of Long Beach
Kathy has been the Executive Director of WSLB since January 2022. Kathy is a Fulbright Scholar who has passionately served in the field of family violence prevention for over 25 years. She is the former CEO of the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center, the Heroes and Healthy Families Combat Trauma Program, and more locally, the Interim Executive Director of the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation and the Long Beach Day Nursery. Kathy teaches part-time in the Sociology department at Chapman University. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work, but most importantly, a desire to impact the lives of those who have struggled with family violence in all of its forms.
