Mahalo, is Hawaiian for “thankful” and is the name for our men’s detoxification facility. Each man who chooses to detox at Mahalo will receive our AKUA exclusive, East-meets-West treatment program. We blend medication, healthy diet, and relaxation, with music therapy, mediation and yoga. While at Mahalo, each man will begin to physically heal so that his body and mind are ready for the next step in his journey towards health. “Akua was more than learning not to drink. From the moment I walked in it was different. It was a place of understanding as many of the staff members have successful entered recovery. The staff began right away with drawing my story out in attempt to get into the deeper reasons behind why I abuse. The most helpful thing I received was insight into the whys of my addiction instead of just trying to stop the addiction. They treat the whole person.”
