Native Traditions & Spiritual Teachings

Akua’s Native Healing Center offers traditional healing practices along with evidence-based Generation Red Road curriculum exclusively for members of the Native American/Indigenous Community. Our staff receives ongoing cultural competency training to ensure understanding and awareness of customs, generational trauma, and the spiritual needs specific to the Native Population.

Spiritual & Traditional Healing

We provide individualized treatment plans to ensure culturally appropriate services. We employ native healers and cultural advisors. Akua Native Healing program also offers ongoing talking circles for those in treatment services, alumni and Native community members.

Nathan is a second-generation urban American Indian and completed his master’s degree in business administration (MBA) with an emphasis in leadership. He has extensive experience and education in traditional healing practices and the substance use disorder field. As Chief Traditional Health Officer, Nathan leads all programs & services offered at ANHC.

Brian is skilled in working with urban and rural communities, youth, elders, families, diverse programs and building partnerships with key stakeholders in the community. He has helped establish various traditional-based wellness practices within behavioral health programs and AI/NA communities nationwide. Brian leads ANHC's weekly groups and individual sessions for Native Populations in Orange County.

AKUA Mind & Body Treatment Program

AKUA Mind and Body is a full-service treatment program that offers a wide range of treatment modalities for many different populations struggling with anxiety and other mental health and substance use disorders. We offer both intensive inpatient programs as well as outpatient treatment. AKUA Mind & Body works diligently with each client and their family to ensure that their depressive disorder treatment plan is specifically tailored to their needs, and not just their disorder.
